Recruitment of Immigration & Asylum Senior Caseworkers (IAAS Accredited)

About the role:
We are looking for experienced Accredited Immigration Senior Caseworkers with experience of dealing with immigration and asylum work. You will have conduct of a broad range of asylum and immigration work from initial application through to appeals. You will also have the opportunity to
work on public law matters and privately funded immigration cases.

You will be:

Accredited to at least Senior Caseworker level under the Law Society’s Immigration and Asylum Accreditation Scheme (IAAS)

Have excellent grounding and knowledge of the full range of immigration and asylum issues that affect migrants, refugees and asylum seekers

Experience of having conduct of a caseload of applications and lower court cases, including unaccompanied minors, appeals, fresh claims, human rights cases, deportation cases, victims of modern slavery or trafficking, and Immigration Rules based

Prior experience in providing immigration and asylum advice under legal aid and on a private basis

Able to work both independently and under the supervision of a Supervising Solicitor.

Excellent client care skills

Bright, eloquent, have a keen eye for detail, proactive and demonstrate good judgment

Ability to work to deadlines and short timescales

A commitment to a long-term career of working with migrants, refugees, asylum seekers as well as individuals and businesses in a mixed legal aid/private practice such as the Firm.

You will be required to obtain an enhanced DBS check through the firm.

This position may lead to a training contract for those looking to qualify as a solicitor (and may include the granting of time to count) after satisfactory service and if your performance has met the firm’s expectations.
Salary:
Competitive based on experience and qualifications and within the band £24,000-£30,000
Job Type:
Full-time, permanent – although part-time (4 days) will be considered
We will also consider hiring on a consultancy basis
